Curatorial Abstract

When to choose cold-cast zinc alloy ballast over solid resin for desk and vitrine pieces.

Zamak-5 diecast gives authentic weight, sharp panel lines, and long-term dimensional stability. Resin editions are lighter and suit larger display lengths where alloy would be costly.

Both leave the Islamabad atelier fully assembled. The difference is feel in the hand and how the piece sits on a narrow shelf.

If you travel with models, resin can be gentler in a padded case. For a permanent desk flagship, zamak remains the collector preference.
